Turkey Chili (beanless)


There are really so many different ways to make chili. If you have a chili cook off and 40 people entered their favorite chili's you would find not one of them to be exactly alike. There are several people in my family who prefer chili with no beans. For me, it could be with beans or without beans... I just LOVE chili. My goal has been to "clean" up my chili and loose the fat. Using ground turkey makes for a lower fat option for dinner. You can eat this chili in a bowl, served over rice or pasta, or spoon some onto your hotdog for a yummy chili dog!

Start by browning 2 lbs of ground turkey. Add 1 tablespoon of Tomato Paste to cooked meat.

Add Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and Paprika.

Add a dash of Cumin and a bunch of Chili Powder.

Last for spices... Add Seasoning Salt & Pepper **If you want to make your chili have a kick add in a dash or two of cayenne pepper!

Add one can of crushed tomatoes and one can of tomato sauce.

Stir everything together and simmer on low for a good long time. Let those flavors get happy together.

I grew up eating Chili over rice. (People that grow up in Hawaii eat a whole bunch of rice!) Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy.
**Note: Chili freezes really well. Portion individual servings or the leftovers for another quick meal in the near future.

2 lbs. Ground Turkey

1 Tbsp Tomato Paste

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1 tsp Onion Powder

1 Tbsp Paprika

1/8 tsp Cumin

1/4 C. Chili Powder

1/2 tsp. Seasoning Salt

1/4 tsp Black Pepper

dash or two of cayenne pepper (optional)

1-29 oz. can Crushed Tomatoes

1-29 oz. can Tomato Sauce

Favorite condiments: i.e. sour cream, shredded cheese, onions, etc...

Brown turkey in a large pot. Stir in tomato paste and seasonings. Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Stir to combine. Simmer for at least 30 min. on low. Serve with your favorite toppings. ENJOY!
