Sloppy Joes From Scratch

   

Using canned and pre-done sauces are convenient, but I find the flavor of "from scratch" to be out of this world better in most cases. Not to mention that you are skipping all the preservatives and sometimes high salt content. Nothing could be easier then this Sloppy Joe recipe. Perfect for a weeknight dinner. (Also perfect when you forget to thaw the hamburger all the way!) 

This recipe is definitely KID APPROVED!!!

SLOPPY JOES FROM SCRATCH

Brown ground beef. Add a little Onion Powder.

Sloppy Joes-1

Squirt in some Sriracha.

A big squirt of Ketchup.

Sloppy Joes-3

A dash of Worcestershire Sauce.

Sloppy Joes-4

Don't forget a squirt of Mustard.

Add a little brown sugar for sweetness.

And finally, a little Sour Cream to round out all the flavors. (this ingredient is not a normal sloppy joe ingredient... but I find that it is the perfect binding and smoothing ingredient!)

Stir and let all the flavors cook into the meat.

Serve on your favorite bun! (Our family is a little obsessed with Onion Buns!) Put a slice of cheese on if you like!

SLOPPY JOES FROM SCRATCH

1 lb ground Beef

1/2 Tsp Onion Powder

2 Tsp Sriracha

3/4 C. Ketchup

2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce

2 Tbsp Mustard

1/4 C. Brown Sugar

2 Tbsp Sour Cream

Hamburger Buns

Brown meat in a large skillet. Add remaining ingredients. Let sauce simmer into meat and thicken. Serve on Hamburger Buns. ENJOY!
