Crusted Oven Roasted Chicken

   

Are you crazy about chicken? Our family eats chicken at least two times a week and I am always looking for ways to make really delicious, crusted skin chicken. I was really excited by the results of this recipe! Super moist chicken with a very yummy crust on the outside. All you need is a pan that can go in the oven.

CRUSTED OVEN ROASTED CHICKEN

First thing you gotta do is get rough with your chicken! Using the palm of your hand, crack the back of the chicken. You want the chicken to be as flat as possible.

Time to make the rub. Start with Onion Powder.

Next Garlic Powder.

Shake in some Paprika.

A little Ground Black Pepper.

Seasoning Salt last.

Mix it together. Sprinkle a couple teaspoons in the belly.

Pat your chicken dry and rub with Olive Oil.

Sprinkle half of the remaining seasoning on the top of the chicken and the rest on the bottom. Allow the rub to sit for a few minutes on the chicken.

Get your oven safe pan nice and hot.

Gently lower the chicken into the pan.

Don't touch that chicken for a good 4-6 minutes! Then flip. Nice color on the backside of the chicken!

Cover and put in a 375˚ oven for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking 10-15 minutes more or until chicken is cooked through.

Remove from pan and enjoy a juicy and amazing crusted chicken!

CRUSTED OVEN ROASTED CHICKEN

4-5 lb. Whole Chicken

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

2 Tsp Onion Powder

2 Tsp Garlic Powder

1 Tsp Paprika

1 Tsp Black Pepper

3 Tsp Seasoning Salt

Using the palm of your hand, break the breast of the chicken to make it as flat as possible. Rub chicken with oil. Mix seasonings together. Sprinkle 2 Tsp into cavity of chicken. Rub remaining seasoning all over chicken. Allow rub to sit on chicken for at least 10 minutes. Heat oven safe pan. Gently lower chicken into pan. Turn chicken over after 4-6 minutes. Cover and place in 375˚ oven for 30 min. Uncover and return to oven for 10-15 min. or until chicken is cooked through. Enjoy!
