Cinnamon Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Okay. I know the name may be long, but the cookies are TOTALLY yummy!!! They are totally worth the long name. Moist, soft, chewy, and delicious!

The thing that makes these cookies so amazing is the Hood Sour Cream. It gives the cookie a moist, chewy texture that really is one of my favorite parts of eating cookies! I am not a hard cookie fan, so these cookies are perfect for me!

CINNAMON SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES

Start with some Shortening.

Add in your sugars. And begin to cream together.

Pour in Hood Sour Cream and mix well.

Add Eggs & Vanilla.

Next add Oatmeal and Flour. (I used whole wheat flour, but you can use either)

A little Salt.

A little Baking Soda.

Add the Cinnamon. (I LOVE Cinnamon Cookies) Mix everything together.

Dump in a whole bunch of Chocolate Chips! (and eat a few too!)

Plop by spoonful onto baking sheets. (I like big cookies. These are about 2 inch balls)

Bake at 350˚ for 12-14 minutes.

When you take them off the baking sheet they will be soft. As they cool they will stiffen a little more.

CINNAMON SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES

**Yields: appx.2 1/2 Dozens Cookies
Time to prepare: 15 Min.
Cook Time: 12-14 Min

3/4 C. Shortening

1 C. White Sugar

1 C. Brown Sugar

3/4 C. Hood Sour Cream

2 large Eggs

1 Tsp Vanilla

2 1/2 C. Whole Wheat Flour

2 1/2 C. uncooked Old Fashioned Oatmeal

1/2 Tsp. Salt

1 Tsp. Baking Soda

1 Tbsp. Cinnamon

1 3/4 C. Chocolate Chips

In a large bowl, cream together shortening and sugars. Incorporate sour cream. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, oatmeal, salt, baking soda, & cinnamon and mix by hand. Stir in Chocolate Chips. Drop by large spoonfuls (about 2 in. ball) onto baking sheet. Bake at 350˚ for 12-14 minutes. ENJOY!
