My husband, Jared, did such a great job tonight making dinner. He chose Banana-Stuffed French Toast with Streusel Topping and boy was it so good. I am supposed to be on a no sugar, low carb diet, but I couldn't make him feel bad now could I. He even did the dishes after he was done!
Here is the recipe if you would like to make it too.
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons water
3-4 large ripe bananas, peeled, cut into 1/2-inch-thick rounds
1/2 cup sugar
1 1-pound unsliced loaf egg bread, ends trimmed, bread cut into 6 slices (each about 1 1/2 inches thick) or 16 slices of Regular Bread (We used Whole Wheat.)
2 cups milk
6 large eggs
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup ( 1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced almonds, toasted (optional)
1/4 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
1/4 cup quick-cooking oats - (We used 2 packages of Instant Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal)
2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
